Last Week Gainesville, GA - This Week Conover, NC

Last week's event was shortened to a 36-hole event due to rain. Chris made the cut and then had to pass time over the weekend as delay after delay came through. Luckily he stayed with my aunt and uncle near the event so he had a "homey" place to return to after the rain-outs. This week he has host housing which is a great money-saver. Tee time for Thursday is 12:39pm and Friday, he goes off at 7:39am.

Home for Spring Break

Chris finished his round yesterday at +3 and ended the tournament tied at 47. See earlier posts for a link to the leaderboard that will have the final results. Chris stayed with my aunt and uncle in Atlanta last night and traveled the rest of the way home this morning. Luckily I'm on Spring Break this week so we'll have some time to hang out before he hits the road again.
Running: we all finished the Tom King well, if you look up Nashville Striders, you can see our posted times. I have a new PR for a 5k set at 29:23, so I was pretty excited to finish under 30 minutes. I've canceled our run for tonight so I can hang out with Chris (and it's supposed to rain) but we'll get a few good runs in this week before attempting 7 miles on Saturday.
Chris's brothers are both coming in town this next weekend for their Spring Breaks so it will be a lot of fun hanging out with them before Chris heads to Gainesville, GA next week.

Weekend Play

After a 3 hour rain delay on Thursday that ended with +2 round, Chris only got 5 holes in last night after teeing off at 5:00. He finished his round today and now stands at -1, tied at 33. He is teeing off his Saturday round at 12:35et and hoping to go low!
     I am happy to say that my 5k went well today. It was awesome running with my cousin, Chelsea, my mom and mother-in-law, and a fast friend. We all did great! We don't know our exact race times are really hoping that our chips worked. Results should be posted tomorrow at Tom King Classic

Heading to Ocala, FL

Chris moved to Ocala, FL today, the location of the event this week. He'll room with college teammate, Grant Leaver, again this week. It's always nice to have another good player to stay with for discussion and as money-saver. :) Chris's plan is to practice at a course that he enjoys in Orlando tomorrow before playing a practice round later this week. Running update: Hit a personal record distance today of 6.5 miles. The schedule was for 6 miles, but Shelly and Chelsea insisted on running it out. Not that I was opposed; it was good for my mental game.

Chris missed the cut, so he's practicing today and looking forward to next week's event. He had more good holes than bad so we've got a good outlook for the next event. He'll move to Ocala, FL tomorrow for the next event before coming home for a week which coincides with my spring break...yay! Rainy day here in middle TN so we've rescheduled our long run for tomorrow afternoon after church. 5K a week from today!

Tee Times - Tallahassee

Chris has been in Tallahassee since Monday preparing for the first regular season event on the Hooters Tour. Looking through the field makes me nostalgic, wanting to be there to carry the bag. But, I'm staying busy here in TN and keeping to a pretty good training schedule. I'm excited and nervous for tomorrow and can't wait to see how Chris starts the year off.
