Hanging out in Pearland/Houston

After being sick with food poisoning, Chris wasn't as prepared or healthy for this tournament as he would've liked. After missing the cut, he practiced yesterday while I was able to read by the pool (my favorite)! We're in preparation for next week in Victoria. We're blessed to have host housing next week too and will head that way in the morning. Last night we drove to downtown Houston to support the Astros against the Tampa Bay Rays (we weren't able to cheer on a win). We had great seats and enjoyed watching a baseball game.
This morning we did our Sunday School lesson, I finally did my Jillian Michaels workout and Chris is at the course getting some practice in. We've had the luxury of basically house-sitting this week because our host family housed us while they're out of town. The house is absolutely amazing so I'll sit here for a bit longer job searching before heading out to the pool again. Trying to get my tan lines in shape for a special wedding in less than two weeks and caddying doesn't help them much!

It's raining outside!

Well southeast TX hasn't seen rain in like 5 months so we've arrived just in time. I feel like we did this last year! Chris just recently headed to the course to try to get some type of practice in even though it's hit or miss all day with showers and thunderstorms. Tee times are 1:15pm for Thursday and 8:15am for Friday. We're both trying to get rid of what's left of this food poisoning so prayers are appreciated!

Food Poisoning...Blah

Early Monday morning we both woke up throughout the night with food poisoning. The plan was for Chris to play in a one-day Six Tour event on Monday (yesterday) and then for us to fly to Houston Monday night. Unfortunately he had to withdraw and instead we laid around in misery yesterday. His dad, bless his heart, drove us to the airport for the most uncomfortable flight ever. We were happy to get to our host family's house around 11 last night and sleep the rest of the sickness off. Chris played in the Pro-Am today while I laid around trying to recover. So we'll play a Hooters event in Pearland this week and then go to Victoria next week.

To wrap up previous events. Chris missed getting into the St. Jude PGA event in Memphis by two strokes. We then went onto Tunica for a 36-hole qualifier for the US Open. Chris shot 5 under for the 2 rounds and his caddy survived! We then headed home to prepare for these next Hooters events.

It's HOT in Memphis!

Yay! We're on the road. We left Nashville Thursday morning to head to Memphis for a practice round at Windyke. Chris played in the pre-qualifier for the St. Jude PGA event next week yesterday. Finishing the round at 3 under that was plenty good to get him into the Monday qualifier (the last step to get into the St. Jude) that will take place tomorrow, on Sunday. So, today he's out in the heat again practicing while I finally update the blog and put out a 2-mile run this morning. We are so blessed this week to be staying with Chris's cousin, Jonathan and his wife Rebekah. They are housing us and feeding us great dinners. We were happy to take them to Yogurt Mountain last night :) So, tomorrow we have a 7:30am tee time for the qualifier where we need to finish in the top 4 to get in. We're excited about getting to go off early and beat the worst of the heat. Sunday night we'll be heading to Tunica (oh, the Gold Stike) because Chris plays in the US Open qualifier there on Monday. 36 holes with me on the bag. So, this is a very exciting and busy weekend. We'll take your prayers!
