Still in Orlando
Chris moved north of Orlando today for another Florida Professional Golf Tour event. He finished one shot out of the money on Friday after a rough first round on Thursday. This weekend he practiced at Faldo, worked out, and spent his extra time in Harry Potter world at Islands of Adventure (am I jealous? yes). He played his practice round this morning and I'm sure he's enjoying Sunday night football right now. He will play tomorrow and Tuesday (2 day event) and then head up to Atlanta to stay with the Murray's before heading home on Wednesday. I know I can't wait!! I've had a good weekend as well...Sips n Strokes with a friend, helping my parents start their Christmas light hanging, and planting some things around my house! I am looking forward to good week especially since we started with an extra hour of sleep.

It's been awhile...
Chris finished out the season on the Hooters Tour. I obviously have been a bit busy with school starting back up. Lucky for me, I got Election day off today so finally, some time to remember that I have a blog to keep up. Chris played in and won a couple of events in the Nashville area on October 11 and 25th called the SixTour. Chris headed down to Orlando yesterday to play in two Florida Professional Golf Tour events. These are 2-day events that will give Chris something to play in before the holidays and before he takes some time off before the 2011 golf year. Chris will enjoy his time in Florida, I'm sure, as we're expecting some colder weather up here by the end of the week. He also still has that annual Universal Studios pass so I will be very jealous if he gets to visit Harry Potter world again. He better bring me some pumpkin juice!
Aside from golf, we celebrated 2 years of marriage back on October 11th by going to the Melting Pot. yum. We've enjoyed a great fall so far and really looking forward to the holidays and a trip to Vegas after the new year!

Houston was fun
Well, we did the first round on Friday and the second round on Saturday. It was hot and there were a lot of mosquitos...these are the complaints of the caddy. We couldn't really get anything going and the putts just didn't fall at all so he missed the cut this week. Saturday night we went to the Astros game (awesome stadium) and while we were standing in line to purchase a couple of the cheap seats a guys said Merry Christmas and handed us 2 tickets at club level. I'll try to post a picture later but it was so much fun and obviously great seats. We've had a good time in Houston with a great host family and now waiting to head to the airport to fly home tonight. Chris is looking forward to taking some time off and putting the clubs up for awhile while we go to Orlando (yay!) before I start school and Chris heads back out for more tournaments. Good trip and time to head home for a bit.

First Round Cancelled
Well, it rained a lot yesterday, last night and this morning. Originally they post-poned everything 2 hours and now have called today's round. The hope/plan is to do the first round tomorrow, second on Saturday and do 36 holes on Sunday...we'll see.

Pearland, Texas
So, my first time in Texas...Chris was practically raised here. We flew into Houston on Monday and arrived at the course by 10:30am - so that was an early morning. We've got THE BEST host family in Pearland. We stayed in their "Texas room" at their house in Alvin the first two nights. Yesterday Chris played in the Pro-Am with Debbie and a few of her friends and the shoot-out with Howard. Last night was the Pro-Am dinner which was a lot of fun with barbeque and a local country and western band. Today we moved over to their house by the course so that's going to be very convenient for the week while the tournament is going on. It's kinda of rainy today so Chris is getting in practice while he can and I'm working on lesson plans and other fun stuff. We go late, then early on Thursday and Friday.
You can always tell...
when he's missed a cut. There seems to be a lack of an update. So, we missed the cut in Miami and headed home for a couple of weeks. It was nice to get some work in at home and we were able to spend July 4th in town. It's been hard to find a good practice and playing facility for Chris since Springhouse still isn't up and running from the May flood. We're excited about this week and then looking forward to taking some time off for some summer fun, a wedding and preparing for Q school.

Miami, OK....pronounced Miamuh
Chris got in a practice round while I've been hanging out at the hotel getting my workouts in and finishing another book. We're ready to get started. Tee times are 12:30 for Thursday and 7:30 for Friday. We're staying near the course so the 7:30 won't be too terrible. We did go to Joplin, MO tonight and were able to eat at a Cracker Barrell. We're happy now that we got some veggies (me) and Mama's french toast for Chris. Hoping for another great week.

Summing it up
So. Chris was leading going into the final round in Bentonville...which was crazy exciting. He grinded all the way through the round. The putts that were falling earlier in the week were coming up just short. He played so well and saved a few pars including 18 which he had bogied the day before. He worked hard all day and finished at +1 for the round, -12 for the tournament which placed him 4th in the tournament. I'm extremely proud of him and I think he ended up ok with it all :) It was a mentally taxing day but we are so thankful and we appreciate all the good wishes, prayers, support and congratulations.
After the round we grabbed some lunch with some other players and then headed to Fort Smith, AR. Parts of that town/city were interesting. We headed straight for the course he was going to play so he could scout it out a bit since he wasn't able to get a practice round in. When we got to the hotel we were tired to say the least and ordered in a pizza, hoping to rest before the Nationwide qualifier on Monday. See Holiday Inn pic on left. It was ok...glad to have just the one night there. Monday morning had a really early start so that we could get to the course in time to warm up for Chris' 8:30 tee time. This was a hilly course...the caddie had a little more trouble on her fifth day in a row - but for the record, she made it through. It's a good thing they had carts to carry us up the hills between a couple of the holes. After the week in Bentonville and the slow greens, Chris just couldn't get anything going at this qualifier. We were able to swing by the course where the Nationwide event is taking place so Chris could meet with his club guy and so I could see how cool those events are. Definitely not as extreme as the PGA set-up I saw in Memphis but I found it impressive still.
We then hit the road again to head to Miami, OK. (Not pronounced the same way as the city in FL). Another state, another tournament. We checked into the next hotel, see picture, very nice. So hopefully Chris will have another good week out here. Before coming back to the hotel to do laundry we stopped by Waylan's KuKu Hamburgers. Small town, good burgers. And it was a cheap meal which we both appreciated. Chris headed off to get a practice round in early this morning. It's been raining but hopefully he's getting some good practice since this is his first time at this event. I've just been hanging around the hotel...went down for breakfast...and of course trying to get motivated to do my work-out...no excuses today since I won't be carrying the bag for the next couple of days. Have a great day and wish me luck I'm going to try to find a Wal-Mart somewhere around here later in the day.

Round 3 - Bentonville
Another great round today. Chris worked hard and held steady today. It was windy again but he had a three under par round and is leading going into the final round tomorrow. I'm very excited and we both appreciate all the prayers, contacts from friends and family and the well wishes. We're enjoying a relaxing evening at the hotel after having dinner with Brenton and Hillary. Our evening routine in the hot tub was disturbed by some weekend softball team members...but all is well :)

Good Rounds
Yesterday, we had a good round in windy, and just a bit of rainy, conditions. The caddie's workouts are apparently working because it hasn't been too tough :) Today, Chris shot 7 under to push his tournament score to -10. Yay! We played in the wind again but that didn't stop the putting from being amazing. I was hoping to take some pictures during the practice round on Wednesday but it was a little rainy. I'll try to get a few pics this weekend even though they may be practice shots since I'm carrying the bag. So, Chris went back to practice some and do a workout and I'm hanging out at the hotel. Life is good and full of blessings.

Bentonville, AR
We're here! Notice the "we." Chris has been home for the past 3 weeks. He had a good tournament at the State Open and a couple of weeks of good practice. I even went out and played a few holes with him. We are glad to be playing for the next couple of weeks. Yesterday we drove to Bentonville, stopped by Memphis so I could see the goin's on at the St. Jude tournament...very impressive. On our way we saw some crazy clouds so I had to take a picture :) We got here safely, yay, and I even did my P90 workout while Chris practiced at the course. We're staying at a nice Best Western. See other picture. This morning Chris has headed back out to the course to play...we might see some wind and/or storms. I plan on getting my workout in, possibly some laying out and acting like I'm on vacation. Later this afternoon I'm planning on meeting up with some of the wives to do some ceramics painting while the guys are at FCA - if that goes well I'll post a picture!

McCormick, SC
Sorry for the lack of an update! Chris had a good week in McCormick, finishing at 41 at 7 under. He is now safely home and has gone out today to find a course that is not under water. His home course at Springhouse is unplayable for the foreseeable future. They have moved the State Open to Dickson in a couple of weeks. Until then, Chris will be practicing and preparing for a couple of qualifiers he has coming up.

Hampton, Georgia
Chris missed qualifying for the Nationwide event this week by one stroke so hopefully that's a sign that he will have a good week in Hampton, Georgia. His tee times for Thursday and Friday are 8:09am, 1:24pm.

Traveling Day
It's a traveling day and Chris headed down to southern Georgia today. We've enjoyed being home for a couple of weeks. Chris has been practicing well and had a good lesson with Matt and is ready to play for a couple of weeks. He has a Nationwide Monday qualifier tomorrow afternoon. We hope that goes well but he has a plan either way for this week. I'll let you know how it goes and try to get some pictures up from our last event that my uncle took. But, I have a busy week, so no promises. As always we ask for your prayers and we look forward to June when I can travel too!

Good Friday
So, we're enjoying a relaxing morning (Chris is watching the Dan Patrick show) and the great warm weather while we wait for our afternoon tee time. We've got some work to do this afternoon to make the weekend, but we enjoy a challenge. We also want to give thanks in remembrance of this Easter holiday weekend and focus on Jesus' sacrifice on this Good Friday. We hope to have good news and maybe some pictures later on.

Tee Times - Gainesville, GA
So, after traveling on Monday and playing a practice round today, Chris is enjoying time at his (family) host house this week. Thanks Miriam and Chris.
He has an 8:39am tee time on Thursday and 1:39pm on Friday and I fully intend to carry the bag that day!

Home, Sweet Home
So, after a quick trip to Orlando we're safely back home. We felt fancy, staying at the Double Tree Resort and we were able to have fun and ride all our favorites at Universal Studios. And....I got to see Harry Potter (well, Hogwarts and Hogsmeade under construction, not yet open). I made Chris promise he would take me back to see everything and battle all the kids after it opens up.
We want to say a BIG thank you to Curt and Jean for their wonderful hospitality in Fernandina Beach and thank you to Miriam for our quick stop in Atlanta.
Chris will be practicing here in (cooler) Tennessee before heading off to more tournaments. Yay for me! I will work on getting a schedule up here soon.

Amelia National - Fernandina Beach, FL
So, after a rain delay on Thursday and a quick flight to Jacksonville, we find ourselves short of the cut line. The good news is we were able to enjoy some time on the beach and get this blog launched. We hope to share the highlights of our life as we bounce from course to course (knowing that God watches over us, helping us finish strong as we keep our faith) with our closest family and friends. For those of you that are interested in what's going on with us and Chris's career, we hope this blog will keep you up to date. We look forward to a good year with great successes.
