I learn so much from my 6th grade material!

Shelly and I teach 6th grade girls Sunday School. I promise, I'm learning more than they are. Thank you Lord for the conviction that I get each week. I'm pretty sure Shelly agrees with me. Last week's material in particular for me. About how prayer is a conversation - how I'm supposed to be listening to have a real relationship with God.
I have trouble listening, like really shutting my mind up to hear what He wants me to. In my Experiencing God study I'm learning so much about how God is at work around me and that I have to join in that work and be obedient. One of those lessons also talked about prayer, about how if we're walking daily with God, then we'll be praying for what the Holy Spirit puts on our heart. And if we're praying for those things, then they will come about.
Today, I was humming/singing some of the lyrics below and they were very comforting to me, because I think what I am supposed to hear right now, is, wait. Enjoy the below! What a great song and what a great friend we have in Jesus!

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.

Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.

Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.
